The “Inlay Hermopolis Set of 4” is a captivating blend of history and artistry.
Encased in antique gold wooden frames with clear glass. Crafted from hand-casted and painted plaster, these artworks are inspired by ancient Egypt, possibly hailing from Middle Egypt, Hermopolis (Ashmunein; Khemenu). Their uniqueness lies in the variations and colors that naturally occur, making each one a distinctive homage to the rich heritage of the Horus falcon.
HISTORIC PROVENANCE
The Wall Art Inlay Hermopolis is inspired by four Egyptian inlays from the 4th-century B.C. and now at The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York. Each inlay features a different image: Shepsi, a solar god associated with Hermopolis; the hieroglyphic sign “heh,” meaning “millions of years”; and two likenesses of Horus, the falcon god of kingship. Our set of four hand-painted wall artworks are crafted from hand-cast plaster and presented in antique-style gold wooden frames.
